About April

Hi! I’m so happy you made it to my blog. My name is April, I was born and raised in the central valley of California, surrounded by orchards and oilfields. I am one of five children and was the one in the bunch that always gravitated toward educational and homemaking projects from an early age.

I have since moved to Washington state in 2023 for my husband’s career and we have two beautiful children of our own. Our move has afforded me the opportunity to finally enjoy my dream of being a stay at home mom and embark on expanding my skillset. While we do not live on a homestead, we are enjoying each step in the process of getting us closer to our goals of owning land.

My desire to take mine and my family’s health and wellbeing into my own hands began many years ago when I began experiencing unexplained “flu-like” symptoms. It took several years before I was formally diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease. Although it’s been a journey full of ups and downs, I’m grateful for each step along the way as it’s led me to where I am now. I now see the importance of taking charge of my family’s health, from the foods we eat to the products we use.

With all of that being said, my blog is not only a peep into all of my interests and health-led endeavors, but also an ode to all of the women out there who are currently or dreaming of homesteading or owning land. I’m here to be an inspiration to women in all stages of the homesteading/homemaking process and remind them that you do not need to live on a homestead (or any type of property, for that matter) to engage in your passions and build upon your skills! And for my fellow “Lymies,” I’m here to share the steps I’ve taken on my healing journey and provide a sense of hope that so many of us so desperately need!

I hope you enjoy following my journey and please keep in touch!
